Gan Simcha is the class for yeladim (children) from three through kindergarten. Gan Simcha meets once a week, on Sunday mornings. Teachers focus on interactive Jewish learning through play, song, art, and stories. Each day includes songs that teach simple Hebrew.
Tzedakah (righteousness) is very important for our Gan students. At the beginning of the year, students make individual tzedakah boxes to take home and fill. Every week the children bring in money for tzedakah and sing a special tzedakah song that helps them understand this important Jewish value.
In Gan, children learn about Shabbat and other holidays throughout the Jewish year. Each week, children make art projects and have a special Jewish story to reinforce their learning. At snack time, children have “pretend Shabbat” and learn the brachot (blessings) over the candles, grape juice, and challah.
