Lincoln Jewish Community School

Since 2006, the Lincoln Jewish Community School has brought together the children from our Reform Temple, Congregation B’nai Jeshurun, and Lincoln’s Conservative synagogue, Congregation Tifereth Israel. Together these two small congregations can leverage our individual strengths to provide a rich Jewish education for our young people, from preschool through high school.

The mission of the LJCS is to teach our children the richness of our heritage, to help them to achieve positive Jewish identity, and encourage them to actively participate in Jewish life at home, in the community, and in the world.

Our youngest children (ages three through Kindergarten) learn, create, and play together at Gan Simcha, and our teens engage in study and tzedakah in Hallah High. Classes are held on Sundays during the school year for all grades. Gan Simcha, Kitah Aleph (1st and 2nd grade), and Hallah High are Sunday-only. Students from 3rd grade through 7th grade also attend Hebrew School on Wednesday afternoons.
